Former World number one Tiger Woods has revealed he may play in the PGA Tour Fall Series in a bid to win a place in November's Presidents Cup team event.
The 35-year-old, who has slipped to 36 in the rankings, has struggled for form and fitness this year and missed the cut at the recent US PGA Championship.
Woods, who has not won a title since November 2009, has played in every US Presidents Cup team since 1998.
"I want to be on the team," he said. "I'm just going to try to get better."
After he failed to make the cut at the US PGA in Atlanta when rounds of 77 and 73 left him at 10 over, Woods was not scheduled to play again until the Australian Open from 10-13 November.
However, US skipper Fred Couples said: "He can't just show up the week before in Australia.
"I have made it clear that whoever I picked will be playing the Australian tournament the week before. But I need him to play more than just there."

It's Freddie's call, and he can make any choice he wants. I might add another PGA Tour event to my schedule. Right now, I'm looking at my options."
There are four events in the Fall Series and the two most likely to appeal to Woods are the Las Vegas Open at the end of September, where he won his first PGA Tour title in 1996, and the 20-23 October Disney Classic in his home state of Florida.
