Dustin should be OK with losing LaCava

After his first round in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Dustin Johnson made it clear he was not bitter about Tiger Woods hiring his now-former caddie Joe LaCava.

Good.

Johnson may not be Woods – he may never be Woods – but he is young, talented and marketable. Those are three things Tiger was 15 years ago.

Who carries his bag is not inconsequential, but Woods himself said a caddie is not worth more than the rare shot or two in a round. Considering the three shots which kept Johnson from likely having at least one major by now were a shank, a rules violation and a nasty bunker shot, those were out of the control of any caddie.
