Rory McIlroy shares top spot

Rory McIlroy shares top spot with four others - including Rickie Fowler and defending champion YE Yang - after the second round of the Kolon Korea Open at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club outside Seoul.

US Open champion McIlroy, who finished third in the event in 2009, added a two-under 69 to his opening 68 to reach the halfway mark tied for the lead at five-under.

American Ryder Cup star Fowler and 2009 US PGA Championship winner Yang - the two first round leaders - joined McIlroy on that number after one-under 70s while the five-under total was also matched by Korean Mo Joong-kyung (66) and Australian Bronson La'Cassie (67).

McIlroy enjoyed a solid front nine with birdies at the fourth and fifth but stumbled on the back with three bogeys in four holes from the 13th.

However birdies at the 12th and 14th kept him in the hunt for the lead and a closing birdie, which the other pacesetters failed to match, left him in a share at the top.

"It was a good round. I felt it could have been lower, but I played solid golf and holed some nice putts," said McIlroy.

"It's a good start to the tournament and I have put myself in a good position going into the weekend."
