Seve’s son to make European Tour debut in ’12

Seve Ballesteros‘s 21-year-old son Javier will make his European Tour debut next May at the Iberdola Open in Spain, according to the Spanish paper Marca. The son of the golf legend will compete on a sponsor’s invitation ahead of turning pro after he finishes law school.

“I have an invitation to play next May in the Majorca Open and I will play, for sure,” Ballesteros said. ”Then when I’ve finished my law degree I would like to give it a shot and turn professional.”

The 2011 tournament was played the week after the May 7 passing of Seve Ballesteros, who succumbed to complications from cancer. The event was won byDarren Clarke, overtaking Chris Wood on the final day.
