Like Saturday, he started on the 10th tee and made noise early, birdieing four of his first six holes and climbing the leaderboard with a first-nine 32. But moving over to the front side at CordeValle, Woods bogeyed the par-4 second and fifth holes. He did birdie the par-5 ninth to end the round on a positive note.
Woods told Golf Channel after the round that he doesn’t plan on adding any more Fall Series events before leaving for Australia and his Presidents Cup preparation, and that he’s been texting frequently with U.S. team captain Fred Couples all week while at CordeValle.
