Phillip Price takes lead at windy Hassan Trophy in Morocco
HASSAN TROPHY LEADERBOARD - 36 HOLES UNLESS STATED (PAR 72) -10: Phillip Price (Wal) -9: Jose Manuel Lara (Spa) -8: Joel Sjohom (Swe), James Kingston (RSA, 35 holes) -7: Jorge Campillo (Spa), Damien McGrane (Ire, 23 holes)
Former Ryder Cup hero Phillip Price carded a second-round 66 to take the lead at the Hassan Trophy in Morocco. High winds prevented any play before 1300 local time, but from there the Welshman moved to 10 under, one stroke ahead of Jose Manuel Lara. However, the late start meant much of the field will have to complete the second round on Saturday. Day-one leader Damien McGrane remained on his overnight score of seven under having played only five holes. Price, forever to be remembered for his victory over Phil Mickelson at the Belfry in 2002, is chasing his first victory for nine years. "I'm delighted with that," said the 45-year-old. "It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near a leaderboard. It's nice to be up there." England's Robert Rock wrote off his chances of making it to Augusta with a septuple bogey 11 in his opening 77. But the Abu Dhabi winner shot 68 on his return - even with a seven on his card - and on one over is just inside the expected cut mark.
