The Past, Present and Future were well represented at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup Media Day at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix. One of the 13 LPGA Founders Marilynn Smith regaled the media with stories about the original days on Tour of having to self promote at baseball games and boxing matches. LPGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Famer Betsy King echoed the changes that have occurred with the Tour and how bright and talented the stars of today are such as Amanda Blumenherst who is looking forward to playing in her hometown as well as planning her upcoming nuptials! At age 15 and 17, junior golfers Abby and Haley spoke about how much they love the game of golf and are thankful for the opportunity that the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program has given them to learn and compete. They will be watching and learning when the pros come to town in 2 weeks!
