Banned by the European Tour for three months earlier in 2011 for a purported cheating incident on their developmental tour, Elliot Saltman had to go three months without his biggest source of pay. On Friday at the Madrid Masters, Saltman won a prize that may be able to tide him over if such a suspension happens again.
Saltman made an ace at the par-3 third at El Encin Golf Hotel to score his body weight in ham as a prize. His listed weight is 240 lbs.
It may be the only thing of value Saltman receives this week in Spain, however. He is likely to miss the cut after shooting 3-over for the first two rounds of the tournament.
