Eight of the world's top-10 players including the highest-ranking American, No. 2 Stacy Lewis, highlight the list of competitors headed to Rogers next week for the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. The official LPGA Tour event returns to Pinnacle Country Club June 25-July 1 where a $2 million purse is up for grabs, making it one of the top five purses on Tour.
With $300,000 being awarded the winner, defending champion and World No. 1 Yani Tseng, Na Ya Choi (No. 3), ShanShan Feng (No.4), Suzann Pettersen (No. 5), Ai Miyazato (No. 6), Cristie Kerr (No. 8) and I.K. Kim (No.9) lead the stellar field committed to play in Rogers. The field is without Sun Ju Ahn (No.6) who plays primarily on the LPGA Japan Tour and Jiyai Shin (No. 10) who recently underwent wrist surgery, but other fan favorites Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel and Lexi Thompson will all be competing at Pinnacle Country Club.
"Our field this year is really one of the best there is, we have the world's best golfers competing at a beautiful course," said Tournament Director David Shoemaker. "The fans here are in for a great week of golf and we encourage everyone to come out and enjoy everything the tournament has to offer from the Dove Kid's Center to Autograph Alley."
The Dove Kid's Center will have plenty of family activities including a bounce house, miniature golf, player autograph signings and free ice cream. Fans can also seek autographs from players following the completion of their rounds at Autograph Alley behind the 18th green.
Two qualifiers will earn entry into the tournament field following the official open qualifier on Monday, June 25 at Pinnacle Country Club. Tee times begin 1:00 pm and admission is free to the public.
